Optical Waveguide Chips

wave_guide_chipsWe specialize in providing Optical Waveguide Chips that feature low Polarization Dependent Loss, low insertion loss, stable optical character, silica on silica construction, and no-void processing.

These chips are small in size but large in function.

Market: This is a specialty product used in the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) market.

Availability: These are available in 1×4, 1×8, 1×16, 1×32 configurations and more.

Purpose: These splitter chips work as subcomponents within optical waveguides to divide optical signals from input ports to multiple output ports.

Manufacturing information: These are high-end chips that feature stable optical character, and are suitable for various applications including splitters and combiners.

Application Solution: Waveguide solutions can reduce the overall size and cost of passive and active components packages.

Other market availability: For splitters not used in the FTTH market, Global FiberVision, Inc. offers a fusion splitter that does not offer the same features as the Optical Waveguide Chips but is much more affordable. Both the Optical Waveguide Chips and the fusion splitters can be terminated with your choice of SC, SCAPC, FC, LC or LCAPC connectors.

Fiber Optic Attenuators

AttenuatorsWe stock a variety of high quality attenuators featuring metal-ion doped fiber (continuous), high durability, wavelength independence, attenuation levels ranging from 1dB to 30dB, wavelengths from 1310nm to 1550nm, and dual wavelengths of 1250-1625nm or 1350/1550nm, and custom configurations are available.

These attenuators are available in a variety of styles.

Market: Business and industry- contractors, developers, government

Special features: These feature a proprietary type of metal-ion doped fiber which reduces the light signal as it passes through providing the highest performance in the 1310, C and L bands. These quality attenuators are capable of withstanding over 1W of high power light exposure for extended periods of time.

Application Solution: These attenuators provide excellent optical characteristics including low Polarization Dependent Loss and a stable and independent wavelength distribution.

Available options: Connector styles include SC, SCAPC, FC, ST, LC, and MU.
